Man’s Best Narrator
Discussions from Off the Shelf @ Your Library
Paducah, KY -
If you were to take on life and a race car driving career, who would you want riding shotgun? How about someone with four legs?
Talk about the camaraderie and commentary provided by Enzo, the canine character from Garth Stein’s The Art of Racing in the Rain during Discussions from Off the Shelf this month. This long standing McCracken County Public Library program is led by West Kentucky Community and Technical College English Professor Emeritus Andrew Halford. While Halford handles the book discussion, it’s Enzo who takes you through the protagonist’s - Denny’s - life; from marriage to parenthood and trials on the track. As The Art of Racing in the Rain’s narrator, Enzo shares his thoughts, feelings, and regrets (like not having opposable thumbs) with you, the reader. When things go south for Denny, Enzo is right by his side.
Delve into a dog’s mind Wednesday, March 3rd at noon. All library programs are free and open to the public in the upstairs community room.
