THE COSTUME BALL by Norman Beim is the Kentucky Premiere of Twilight Cabaret Theatre.
Presented on Friday and Saturday nights through July 26th, the play is a comedy about
mistaken identities among the three characters. Artistic Director Charles Edward Hall and
Shirley Teach Johnson have once again put together a "bit of Broadway" in western Kentucky.

Playhouse lights firecracker of a comedy

- The Playhouse in the Park 2008 season continues with the staging of Beth Henley’s The Miss Firecracker Contest, just in time for the Fourth of July holiday. Under the direction of Dave Shelton, The Miss Firecracker Contest runs for three weekends Friday through Sunday June 27 – July 13. A long-run Off-Broadway success, the explosively funny play again demonstrates the Henley’s unique gift for finding rich lodes of humor—and simple wisdom—in the zany activities of small-town life.
Show times are Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 and Sunday afternoons at 2:30.

Enjoy an afternoon of holiday fun and entertainment at The Homeplace as we celebrate one of the biggest holidays in the 1850s, Independence Day. Festivities kick off with a visit from the popular Kentucky statesman, Henry Clay, as he regales us with stories of his life: his adventures as a Kentucky senator, Speaker of the House, Secretary of State, and his unsuccessful run for the presidency. Then let the games begin! Play old-time games, enjoy a cool slice of watermelon, and cool off under the shade of the maple trees while enjoying music and a few tall tales. The day will end with a bang as a paper hot air balloon is launched into the sky to celebrate the biggest holiday of the 1850s, Independence Day.

“Always, Patsy Cline” is more than a tribute to the legendary country singer who died tragically at age 30 in a plane crash in 1963. The show is based on a true story about Cline’s friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in l961, and continued a correspondence with Cline until her death.
The musical play, complete with down home country humor, true emotion and even some audience participation, includes many of Cline's unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams and Waking After Midnight…27 songs in all. The show’s title was inspired by Cline's letters to Seger, which were consistently signed "Love ALWAYS, Patsy Cline.” Showtime 2:00

- The Paducah- McCracken County Habitat for Humanity will be presenting an “Evening of Trivia” and Silent Auction at, the Doug Borders Community Room at Lourdes Hospital. Bidding on the Silent Auction items will start at 5:00 p.m. with the Trivia Game starting at 6:00 p.m. All players will receive a T-Shirt with prizes being awarded to the first, second and third place teams. We are inviting corporations to enter a team for an entry fee of $250 and get their name listed as a sponsor on the back of the T-Shirts. Also any donation to the silent auction valued at $250 will also be listed as a sponsor on the T-Shirts. Please contact the Habitat for Humanity office to register your team.

In 2007 Mel Tillis was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Mel has recorded more than 60 albums.
